Hello all. I do not believe BoJo has gone far enough with his ‘Rule Of SIx’. I would suggest that for the foreseeable, we stick to Four. That is to say, we should only mix with our playing partners. Before, during and after golf. This is especially important for events like club matches, the yellow ball and scramble etc, where there are a significant number of members around the clubhouse and car park at the same time. I have noticed a tendency for people to mingle from one group to another to another. Clearly this goes against the current legal requirements.
Furthermore, members are not respecting the one-way system in place in the clubhouse, nor sanitising on the way in and out. These arrangements have been put in place for YOUR protection, so please do not abuse them. Golf is already the perfect socially distanced game, so let’s not risk losing the ability to play it!
If members are unable to follow these simple steps, then we will have to consider further measures to reduce the risk of any transmission. Please be mindful.
