The first competitive club matches of the year have been played. On Saturday, the Little Gems team made their way to Merley Park, home of Flight Refuelling. In mild but breezy conditions, we finished on the wrong side of a 3-2 result.
Not only were the Little Gems missing Aaron Parsons, who has gone to the other side of the world to find fame, fortune and some sunny weather for golf, but also Ian Moakes, who found himself stuck with your fearless leader as a partner in the Daily Mail foursomes this year. On Sunday, in a topsy turvy game at Crane Valley, where each side were 2 up at one stage, it came down to the 18th hole, and again the result went against us.
Finally, the Seniors entertained Worldham at home on Monday, featuring the return of a fish and chip lunch for the first time in 2 years! Weather was again fine and dry, and finally the result was a positive one for Somerley. Winners by 5-1!
