No, not the Canned Heat classic track, but a dozen of Somerley’s finest making their way ‘down south’ to Queens Park to do battle with their Seniors. A most beautiful spring morning helped us play some excellent golf on this long and hilly track, which was in great condition for the time of year.
Despite a myriad of dog walkers, joggers and cyclists (Alan counted 61 dogs on the course!), our team recorded three wins, two halved games, and just one loss, giving us a fantastic 4-2 victory on a course very different to our base.
Pairing of the day is awarded to Norman and John, who survived a hole-in-one against them on the 17th, yet still prevailed.
We will all be pleased to return to the peace and quiet of Somerley after playing alongside the Wessex Way… and looking forward to our next away match in the tranquil surrounds of Hurn Airport!
